What happens if I am unable to make a payment?

Let us know! It is very important to let us know if you are unable to make your payment date as we are very strict on non-payers, we don't mind if you are having a bit of a cash flow problem but if you don't pay and fail to let us know then your site will be taken off-line after 10 days and you will have to pay a £20 fee to have it put back on-line (which you must do within 30 days or you will have to re-subscribe - see question 5). If you let us know however we can probably work something out.

How can you afford to provide a free website and a no minimum-term contract?

Technically we can't, if all of our clients decide to leave us within the first year then our business would not be able to survive, this is the reason why we put so much emphasis on quality and service, we will do as much as we possibly can to make you want to stay with us for the life of your business. We base our pricing and our policies on a trust basis.

We trust that if we treat our customers well then they will stay with us, the ones who are simply unable to do so are an acceptable loss.

The lower end packages do have a small minimum term (no longer than 6 months), this is just to cover ourselves as the lowest packages would actually be a loss to us if they left within the first year, therefore we impose the minimum terms on these packages to keep our losses to a minimum.

If I stop subscribing to your services and then come back at a later date, will I need to start everything again?

Actually, no you wont! Your website will be deactivated on our servers but will always be accessible from our archive, obviously this archive will not last forever but if you re-subscribe within 2 years then your site can be restored.  Unfortunately we cannot do this for free as nothing stops customers from taking their sites off-line and putting them back on-line willy-nilly and we need to make our money too, therefore a re-subscription charge of £100 will be applied (if you resubscribe within the month then this will only be £20)

If I decide to move to another service can I take my website with me?

Yes and no, you can take the domain name and the design of the site with you, we will provide you with a Photoshop template that you can give to the next website company you use, however the Socket manager itself cannot be transferred to another server as we do not sell the software, only the licence to it.

It will be the clients own responsibility to copy all of the sites content into a text file to provide to the new website company.

Can I use my own domain name and hosting provider?

Again, yes and no.

In order to manage your site effectively it must be hosted on the Invasion servers, this allows us to access your website and its services whenever we require and perform maintenance and updates, for this reason we only license our software to be used on our own servers, however if you already have a domain name then you can transfer it over to our servers for free.

What exactly do you mean by a managed website?

We mean that the day-to-day running of the website is a responsibility that we carry on our backs leaving you to worry about other things, if you want a new page, send us the details, if there is an out of date article or image on your site, send us the new one and we'll sort it out. Want to change your navigation? No problem, we'll do that for you!. Do you have a new employee who needs a profile and an email address, just let us know.
 
Most site management tasks are carried out within two working days but if its urgent we can even prioritise the updates for you to be within 5 hours. The priority fee is only £15 as well so it won't break the bank!

OK you have told me what you WILL do for me but what WON'T you do for me?

Well 'managed' does have its limits, some things we will always recommend you do yourself, the primary thing that we cannot offer to clients is a copy writing service for the simple reason that we are not writers, to be honest we always recommend that clients write their own articles as no one knows your business better than you do. If you REALLY do not feel comfortable writing for your site then we do knew some copywriters who will offer their services to you however we cannot be held responsible for their charges and time-frames.
 
We will also not spend money on your behalf, ever! There are internet marketing/web design companies out there who will manage marketing campaigns for their users however we are not comfortable with holding your purse strings, we will gladly offer you free advice on marketing, we even have a free e-book on our site that you can download but we will not do it for you. We do offer services to help with your marketing campaigns (e.g. banner adverts, photography etc..) Contact us for more details.

Finally, all our services operate under a discretionary 'fair use' policy, this is so one client cannot monopolise our time, obviously with such a generous management service, some companies could potentially use up all of our time just on their websites, We do have packages available to accommodate the larger websites but these packages come with additional cost.

What exactly stops me from paying you £150 to design me a website and then just using it myself?

Nothing! Please don't though, if not for our sake then for your own. The staff at Swarm know what they are doing on every level, we have over a decades worth of experience in as web designers and developers and have been patrons of the internet for even longer.

We know how the web works and more importantly we know how the web SHOULD work and that is the standard to which we build our websites, all our sites are designed to incredibly high specifications and meet all the major (and legal) requirements of standards and accessibility compliance.

If you have the knowledge to create your own HTML website and just want someone to help you out with the actual design then we can offer that to you, we can give you a PSD website template design to your requirements for £150 so making us do all that extra programming work for nothing is just plain mean! :)

Your website/literature makes mention of [Insert confusing jargon here], what does that mean and what does it have to do with me?

Our apologies, when you have neen in the web design industry for as long as we have you can't help but pick up certain bits of jargon that become so common in your own vocaublary you forget that most people haven't a clue what you are talking about.
